My First Post

Just Call Me Ray - Raylene Hollrah - AllysonMy name is Allyson Hollrah and I am ten years old. Today is my birthday and it’s my Mom’s release of her great website and foundation. My mom had 2 different cancers by the age of 40, but the second one she should never of had! I wish doctors knew more about this rare case of cancer and I wished my mom would have been warned about it.

When I saw her sad it made me sad and I wish she didn’t have to go through this again. Cancer sometimes can be bad but you have to find the good in it. God leads you to wonderful people and doctors in your cancer journey. God also leads us to new friends in the journey. Every day my mother and I come up with a saying, “Make it a GREAT DAY, make it a RAY DAY.” It means that every day is a gift and you have to make the most out of it.

As a kid it is really hard to see my mom go through this again. When I was 3 and she had breast cancer I don’t really remember, but now I understand it a lot more. Going to doctor visits makes you sad but I knew my mom was being taken care of. How I cheered my mom up I would draw pictures, I would tell her that I loved her all the time; I love her to the moon and back.
I want to talk about how God helped me through this. Somewhere in my heart God was talking to me. He said, “Hang in there kid. Your mom is going to be okay!” I then knew my mom was going to be okay. I would pray every night to God and it sure helped me get through some rough times.

I am glad you came on this website to learn more about my mom’s cancer journey and I want you to feel encouraged and make every day a RAY DAY!

Love Allyson
