HANDBAGS UP FOR GRABS AT THE JUST CALL ME RAY PURSE AUCTION
(HERMANN, Mo.) – The much anticipated fifth annual Hope with Hoses and Handbags party will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Hermann Hill Village in Hermann, MO. Just Call Me Ray and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hermann Volunteer Fire Department hosts Hope with Hoses and Handbags fundraiser raises money to provide awareness of the dangers associated with breast implants, help people rise up through their cancer battles and purchase much-needed equipment for the Hermann fire department.
“As our volunteer fire department continues to grow, so does the need for new equipment. The Hermann Fire Department consists of volunteers; which means it is not supported by district taxes but rather on dues and donations,” says Lisa Schulte, member of the Ladies Auxiliary. “Teaming up with Just Call Me Ray for the Hope with Hoses and Handbags event has been great and it’s now one of our largest annual fundraisers. This year’s funds will be earmarked for replacing one of the front-line pumper trucks. It is one of the first trucks to respond to all fires and is over 30 years old.”
Hope with Hoses and Handbags is a one-of-a-kind event that will feature more than 90 donated, high-end and designer purses. These handbags will be showcased on live and silent auctions plus several raffles. In the last four years, the group has raised more than $11,000 that benefited the Hermann community and beyond.
“We are making a difference in people’s lives,” proclaims Raylene Hollrah, the founder of Just Call Me Ray. “Hope with Hoses and Handbags is a priceless ladies’ night out, where we join together to have fun, raise money and also celebrate survivorship and honor the lives of those who lost their battle with cancer.”
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at justcallmeray.org/events. Tickets are $35 per person; seating is limited to 150 people. Tickets also include a light meal (soup, salad, and sandwiches), beer and wine. Proceeds of the event will go to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hermann Volunteer Fire Department and the Just Call Me Ray organization.
New this year, attendees are encouraged to bring their gently used purses to donate to the Perseverance Foundation Touch of Hope Purse Project. The mission of the purse project is to offer comfort to women by offering personal items and purses to give them comfort in times of need. The Perseverance Foundation collects new and gently used purses, fills them with the essentials and then distributes them out to shelters, crisis organizations, law enforcement and more.
